Concerns or complaints

If you wish to make a complaint or raise an issue for which you require a response from the maternity service, it is better to approach the NHS Trust where you had your care, as Maternity Voices cannot deal with individual complaints.

Depending on the Trust, you can either contact your maternity service directly or the Trust’s general Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) or Advice and Complaints Team, as listed below.

Another option is to contact a Supervisor of Midwives (SoM). Supervisors of Midwives are experienced midwives who ensure that a high standard of midwifery care is maintained. They are there to support you if there are any issues with the quality of midwifery care or if you need advice about your care options and decisions. Contact details and more information about Supervisors of Midwives.
